How to Work in New York’s Gaming Industry

Overview

All Individuals seeking to work for or provide services for a licensed gaming facility or operator must obtain a license from the Commission. In most cases, the gaming facility or operator coordinates individuals’ occupational licenses directly with the Commission. 

To request a waiver of licensing requirements from the Division of Gaming, please complete the Gaming License Waiver Certification Form

Occupational Licenses: Video Lottery, Commercial Casino and Indian Gaming

Licensing is handled through the gaming facility’s Human Resources Office. Inquiries regarding application status should be directed to the gaming facility’s Human Resource Office.

Enterprise (Vendor) Licenses: Video Lottery and Commercial

The entity seeking a license must have a letter of Intent or finalized contract in place with the gaming facility. The gaming facility will submit the letter of intent and provide the entity with necessary materials.

Enterprise (Vendor) Licenses: Mobile Sports

The entity seeking a license must have a letter of Intent or finalized contract in place with the operator. Entities should email [email protected] with a description of the company, services provided, and the name of the operator they have a letter of intent/contract with. The Commission will provide the entity with necessary materials.

Enterprise (Vendor) Licenses: Indian Gaming

Entities must first reach an agreement with the Tribe or Nation, which will inform the Commission of the intended use of the company and provide necessary applications.
