August 5, 2011: New York State Racing and Wagering Board Chairman John D. Sabini today announced that the Board approved simulcasting of New York-based harness races at the three thoroughbred tracks operated by The New York Racing Association (NYRA).
December 20, 2010: Please be informed that the New York State Racing and Wagering Board has adopted new rules, effective January 1, 2010, to authorize and govern out-of-competition drug testing for harness and thoroughbred horses.
December 20, 2010: New Section 912 of the Racing, Pari-Mutuel, Wagering and Breeding Law, “Reciprocity of Licenses,” requires that the Racing and Wagering Board (the Board) recognize and enforce all license denials, suspensionsand revocations imposed by racing and gambling authorities of other jurisdictions, including states, U.S. territories, and Canadian provinces.
December 20, 2010: Each association shall conduct wagering in accordance with applicable laws and these rules. Such wagering shall employ a pari-mutuel system approved by the Commission. The totalisator shall be tested prior to and during the meeting as required by the Commission.
